In response to the SAFE Kerala allegations

Updated 11 May 2023

Throughout April and May 2023, there have been several inaccurate media claims regarding SRIT's involvement in the SAFE-KERALA project. Having been internationally rated in corporate governance processes, SRIT has not and does not engage in unethical practices.

SRIT underwent a stringent bidding process as per the “eProcurement Guidelines of Kerala (http://etenders.kerala.gov.in/nicgep/app)” and was chosen by KELTRON for executing the contract for State Govt’s Motor Vehicle Dept (MVD) amongst equally-able competitor companies.

Having operated for 24-years, SRIT has undertaken and successfully delivered several projects of similar nature in the past. SRIT is a software and managed services provider. Given the size and complexity of the project, to ensure highest quality, we naturally chose to partner with providers for the procurement of ICT components, electronic and non-electronic components.

The SAFE-KERALA project has a strict budget, with SRIT earning only a small percentage (6%) of the total revenue. It should be noted that since the project's inception in October 2020, no money has been received by SRIT so far. According to the signed agreements, SRIT's service fee payment will only begin in February 2026, and will be paid in quarterly instalments thereafter.

We at SRIT take our corporate governance policies seriously and do not engage in unethical practices. The SAFE-KERALA project was delivered with the same high standard of quality and service that we apply to every project we undertake.
